We live in Snowmass Village during the ski season, so we become familiar with the offerings in town and their current status. Last season this was our favorite place. Not so much this year so far. We ate with a family group the day after Christmas. The food was just OK but the service was unbelievable. We were greeted by a young lady with a lip piercing at our table. She had the worst breath possible and stunk up the airspace every time she came by and spoke. We ordered one of the most expensive bottles of wine on the list and repeated for a total of 3 bottles. She apologized for not knowing how to open a corked bottle of wine. Subsequent bottles were just poured without allowing the opportunity to taste the bottle, a major faux pax on a $65 bottle of wine. The food was OK, but just OK. We may give it one more chance, but gosh, why do you mess up the easy things to do?

Dropped in after stopping by 2 other places that were 100% booked. The food and staff was unbelievable. We enjoyed a bottle of wine, caprese salad, lobster bisque, and an amazing rigatoni. The lobster bisque and the salad were divine. We will be coming back soon!

Two days ago we went to The Edge for happy hours, had a few drinks and ordered Moules Marinieres (steamed mussels and fries) for appetizer. The drinks were good and the appetizer was delicious. We ate the bread by dipping it into the broth. (No, we were not starved, the broth was really good!) The service was excellent, the staff made sure we were well taken care of. Today we (4 adults and 2 teens) went back again for dinner. I had lamb shank, I like the texture and the taste when I mixed the meat with the harrissa paste, tomato jam and cous cous. Other dishes that we also ordered were Pasta Nero (seafood pasta), Tomato Artichoke (a stew of various vegetables), Caesar salad, burgers and Crispy Polenta. Everything was excellent except the eggplant for Crispy Polenta was a bit salty. For desserts, we shared lemon tart, crepe dulce del leche and a big scoop of ice creme. Our dinner bill was itemized without the gratuity added to the bill, guess the management has fixed the problem reported by another reviewer...8-) Overall, we are happy with the food and the service.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Westin last weekend. I found a Restaurant.com certificate for The Edge and enjoyed a FABULOUS dinner there on Saturday. I am gluten and dairy free and Santiago, our waiter was very accommodating. We shared the Red Deer and Veal meals and both were fantastic. We ordered the Kenwood Chardonnay, delicious wine, I will be looking for it in my local store. Thank you for making our weekend stay so wonderful!!! Marcia O.

This is our third visit in 3 years to this restaurant. 2nd chef as well. The menus are small but varied and they change every year with new creations perfectly balanced with great appetizers (beer soup and veal schnitzel). The staff are congenial and the restaurant and bar cozy. We will be back again.

Best new chef of the year James crushes it here in Snowmass. A great spot in the peak of the winter ski season, but even better in the quiet, hot summer months, the Edge is an awesome addition to the Roaring Fork valley. My favorite is the beet and goat cheese ravioli, but the kitchen's creativity extends to this truly mind bending hummus (crunchy?!) and simple but divine salmon salads. The dessert menu is perfect. Tiramisu is enormous and freakin delicious. And the Justin's Peanut Butter ice cream will make you soil yourself. Thanks for some great meals James.

Had a large group for an early dinner and got separate checks. The checks had a 22% gratuity because tax was included. That is, the checks did not have a total line for the food and beverage as is standard, just a total line that included the tax, and, the gratuity was based on this total line. When we complained, the management stated it was standard practice (not) and that was way the system was programed (who programmed the system?). The amount was only about $2 per check but it was their arrogant attitude that was so disgusting. So, if you like dishonest, unethical behavior, this is your place. They also had an incredibly overpriced wine list. Typically, restaurants charge between 2 and 2.5 time the retail price; the Edge charges over 4 times. This over pricing can be verified by looking at their wine list and then checking retail prices online (assuming you can find them--a common trick is to charge sky high prices for unknown wines). By comparison, check out the Artisan--possibly the best restaurant in Aspen/Snowmass. It has an excellent wine list of well known wines all priced in the 2-2.5 times retail range. So, why would you want to go to the Edge, when for a few bucks more, you can eat at the Artisan?

The atmosphere is great, very convenient if staying in timberline condos. My food was a little too salty, and I am the type to always add salt. We had some vegetarians with us and they had a tough time with the menus. The wine list is good and overall we liked it and will be back next year

Excellent! Great ambiance and our waitress was fabulous. Appetizer wise...you HAVE TO order the mussels. They come in a large bowl and are seriously the best mussels I have ever had and they are paired with a side of French fries. Seriously, you may want to get 2! I didn't care for the lobster bisque, as it was very dry and lacked any flavor. I split the roasted chicken and filet which were both delicious. Highly recommend The Edge! :)

With all the crowds and loud places in Aspen, the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the Edge was certainly appreciated! Our waiter could have been better prepared e.g. he told us the special was "mussels", we were like "uhh how are they served? is there any sauce?" and he said "they are just mussels with some bread" Despite such bad advertisement, we ordered the mussels which came in a white wine sauce served with focaccia bread and sausage. They were delicious! My main dish was chicken with white truffle risotto, and it was oh so great! If I'm ever back in Snowmass, I will definitely be coming back.

We recently visited The Edge while we were spending my girlfriends birthday weekend in Snowmass. We chose this place due to proximity to the condo and by its reviews. My final thought after the meal: not worth the money. First, we had a hard time figuring out the atmosphere- aspen trees on the wall, and blasting electronic music...weird. Our server greeted us very casually and told us how they were coming to the end of the season so they were limited. Being familiar with ski resorts and the off season we were ok with that, until we heard her repeatedly tell guests this about so many things, it just became an excuse and kind of annoying. She was rather boisterous and a little too comfortable. My girlfriend asked for a recommendation between the chicken and the shrimp pasta, and our server said, "I mean, get the pasta", with no added detail. In regards to the shrimp pasta, it was a very underwhelming dish, and the noodles were cooked in squid ink though the menu did not mention that. When my girlfriend asked about them, the server replied, " it says de noire on them menu, which means black". Sure, that might mean black but it doesn't mean squid ink! Slightly rude and a bit presumptuous to think that just anyone would understand that. Turned off by the squid ink surprise, the birthday girl did not eat her meal, and she did end up paying for it. Considering that the server told us she would be managing next season, we were a little taken back by the lack of professionalism and willingness to help. I will say that the caprese salad was the best thing we ate and it was shared. I was very confused as to why my mashed potatoes were so sweet. Although, our company enjoyed their meal which we were grateful for because they were from out of state. As long time industry people, we cringed at the dollar amount paid for such an experience-we left hungry and $100 less in our pockets.

We had such a bad experience in this restaurant. Bad service, bad food! My mother had a salmon and papalote it was inedible ! ! ! They have to removed from the bill. If I could give 0 star I would do it. The appetizer took like an hour to come. They did not bring plates and utensils for our food, we needed to ask several time for these.

We had 7:30 reservation and were not seated until 8:10. During the time we were waiting for the table, we were subjected to the rudest bartender this side of the Mississippi. When we were seated the server was rude and we had to ask repeatedly for water and even silverware. The time it took for our appetizers and meals to arrive was completely unacceptable (2 hours) and the quality of the food was unanimously disgusting by all members of our party. We tried making the best of a bad situation, but this place was absolutely a pathetic excuse for a dining establishment. Do yourself a favor and back away from "The Edge."

Misleading menu. Not very friendly. Overpriced. I guess we should try this place during peak season to get the quality that the other yelpers spoke of. Just sad that we were treated differently due to the time of year. Total bummer of a birthday dinner.

Don't get me wrong---our meal was good. I just feel like this place is a few minor adjustments away from being the best hidden gem in the area. While overall our experience was nice, there were a few things about it that were a bit odd. Upon arriving, they asked if we want to sit in the dining room or the bar (we had a reservation). I said the dining room, which seemed like the appropriate choice for dinner, and we were ushered to a weird narrow side-area that looked kind of like a dining room you'd see in a Sheraton Four Points. Tacky Christmas lights around a log instead of a proper fire, SUPER bright canister lights that shined right in my fiance's eyes, and a green glowing "exit" sign above the back door. This was the last night of our trip, so we were excited for a tasty, romantic meal in the mountains as the pictures on their website suggest, but the ambiance of the room we were seated in was bizarre. So, pro tip, choose the bar area...I wish we had asked to be re-seated. So, on to the food: the artisan cured meats which we started with were exquisite, and would probably have been big enough for 3-4 people to share. I had the lobster ravioli which were very good, but not particularly memorable. My fiance had the pork loin which was delicious. Also, what they describe as a "Lava Cake" is extremely misleading. It is MUCH MORE DELICIOUS than that, and more along the lines of a souffle. That's honestly the part of m y meal that would make me most likely to return. And sit in the bar this time.

Had a fantastic meal here. The chef really knows how to cook. Blends of flavors are exceptional. Had dinner with a group of friends last night and each of was thrilled with our meals. Wonderful salads (the more pancetta the better for me). Amazing lamb rigatoni and eggplant parm. The chicken was probably the most juicy I've ever had. The desserts were the best by far. Molten lava chocolate with peanut butter ice cream. Excellent service, great/fresh drinks, and we even went and met the chef. A+, definitely not a trap. If it is, it's a trap for some of the best food in the Rockies. Ignore the pretentious reviewers! Go here!

High quality, Euro-influenced cuisine in a somewhat quiet, slightly remote upstairs location in a lodge "a bit up the hill" in Snowmass Village. Reminds me a bit of a Swiss chalet, the roasted cod was strong. Kids meals are a good deal, too.

The food was fresh but not hot. There were not any entrees for vegetarians so we were glad our daughter was not dining with us. Very poor service especially with stiff competition from other restaurants in the Aspen/Snowmass area. The service was the slowest we've experienced for a long time. Our waiter came to the table to greet us and did not introduce himself. He took our orders and did not return with our drinks for at least 10 minutes. The bread did not arrive for a long time after our drinks. We ordered our dinners and the waiter did not return to check on us or let us know the status of our order. Four out of 5 of us received our food much later. We waited for our son's order but it did not arrive. The waiter did not return to check on us. Finally, we had to ask a busboy about the remaining dinner. Our food was not served hot. After we had paid the check a box of leftovers had not come to the table. We had to ask the waiter on the way out for the box.

I'm not an expert yelper, but decided on the walk back to our timberline condo, that The Edge was worthy of a write-up. The menu is inventive, and the staff friendly and enthusiastic. These things can be said of lots of great restaurants- but their commitment to excellence was unparalleled. I am newly pregnant and learning the food rules as I go. I ordered the salmon medium well, after it was recommended m/r (which is how I would normally order and enjoy it). It came out perfectly cooked, but too rare for me to enjoy in good conscience in my current condition. They insisted on making it right, and re- fired an entire new dish. The chef even came out to apologize! I made him hug it out because he was so concerned about the error. I hate being 'that girl' who has to request something special, and I really hate having to share that my order is not up to my expectations. In this case, the entire staff was on board that I did not get what I ordered, and they wanted to do any and everything they could to make it right.
